50 cars lined up at the starting line on Day One of the Cannonball 2000 race, on September 5, 2012. The annual 5-day, 2,000-mile odyssey across Europe raised money for the Dreams Come True children’s charity. The race started in London, crisscrosses the continent and wrapped up in Paris.
Alex Prindiville participated in nothing less than the Prindiville Lamborghini Murcielago, with his Co Driver Paul Lane MD of Unifreight. They first met on the legendary Gumball Rally in 2010, which Alex won.
Over £5 million worth of supercars have set off from the London Hilton Park Lane for the inaugural Cannonball 2000 rally. 50 supercars set off in grid formation, leaving London for the south coast where they boarded a ferry bound for St Malo and then made their way to Barcelona.
From there, the supercars drove to Monte Carlo, on the beautiful coastal roads across the South of France to the heart of the Côte d’Azur, and Milan before a grand finale awaited them in Paris after five octane-drenched days on the road.
Barcelona welcomed us with open arms, the club and hotel were fantastic. We were greeted in France with a reception worthy of the Tour de France, with people lining bridges, roundabouts and roads.
The atmosphere was electric and everyone was in the party spirit! – Thanks to everyone who came out to see us! – We were honoured.
We would also like to thank Vanessa and Paul for that amazing and well-organised Cannonball 2000.
